How He Asked

It was a surprise proposal that I planned out months before it happened. We both had a four day weekend and I told her that we should do a little vacation. I told her no plans, where we were going, where we were staying, only the town (Savannah, GA) and that was it. I got a nice quaint inn downtown called the Planter’s inn, right next to the Olde Pink House where we would eat and spend the first night together. The next day, I surprised her with a trip to the train museum because she is totally and completely in love with anything trains. She was beyond excited but I couldn’t focus because of the other surprise I had in store. While planning the hotel and other activities, I contacted the Georgia State Railroad Museum about coordinating a proposal there. They were ecstatic and graciously helped in anyway they could. I hired a wonderful photographer from SCAD who helped coordinate with most of our close friends and wedding party who all secretly made the trip up for this. They hid in a rail car and waited. We exited our tour and we made our way to the location in front of a 1800’s steam engine. After I read a passage about 3 different types of Love I got down on one knee and asked her to be my forever. The in-disguise photographer captured every moment of happy tears and her saying YES. Our friends came out and she cried again as they all congratulated us. We had an amazing time that night and created a special memory that we will cherish forever.
