How He Asked

When Michael and Jessica first started dating, they went to Santa Monica Pier with some friends. Jessica wanted to ride the Ferris wheel, but Michael was too scared, and made her ride it without him. 8 years later and Michael had still never braved a Ferris wheel with Jessica. On their 8 year anniversary (August 1st, 2016), Michael took Jessica to lunch at the Pike in Long Beach. There was a Ferris wheel across the street, and Michael told Jessica he would ride it with her. When they got on the Ferris wheel, Michael gave her a card that read, “To my lover, my fellow adventurer, my best friend. Thank you for all the smiles, the hugs, the kisses, the tears, all the memories, the love. I couldn’t think of anything that could possibly show how much I love and appreciate everything you have done for me in the past 8 years. Then it came to me… what do you get the bestest person you have ever met?” (turn over card)

“A lifetime of love and memories.” When Jessica looked up, Michael was on his knee and asked if she would make him the happiest man in the world. The Ferris wheel had stopped at the top for a beautiful view of Long Beach because Michael had arranged the whole thing with the worker. They were the only ones on the Ferris wheel, and the worker knew that Michael was going to propose. Jessica said, “OF COURSE!” And when they got to the bottom of the ride, Jessica’s parents were there to surprise her.
