Save the Date! Derrek Saxton and Allison Eisen are getting Married January 16th, 2016.

As we walked the trail on October 9th, 2015, we had a hard conversation and prayed deeply ending in the very same spot that we stood on November 5, 2014. Little did I know that he intentionally took me to the same spot, and asked me to be his wife. Allison

Now I am a fan of Ring Cam, because we have a very precious moment to share with loved ones. Allison

How They Met

Allison: Derrek and I met in class at Cornerstone University, as we were pursuing our Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management. Derrek and I sat across the room from each other 5 months before we had a conversation, and he sent me an Facebook message asking if I wanted to have beer sometime with him. After me dragging my feet and putting it off, I finally agreed to meet up after our evening class. From that day on in August 2014, the journey has been full of adventure, fun, laughter, crying, and growth. Derrek: Allison and I did have 5 months in the same room together before really talking to each other, but what she often forgets to tell is that I was her ‘Eye Candy’. If I glanced at her, she was looking right at me and would quickly look away. I think I narrowed it down to about 15 seconds as the length of time before she would begin dreamily staring at me again. I originally only took it as fun to see how many times I could make her look away by suddenly staring right at her, then took I it as flattery. But after an incredibly embarrassing comment from a professor about the two of us dating, falling in love, and getting married, I decided to get to know her. With her eyes encouraging me every class, how could I not take on the challenge of melting her icy personality?

Proposal Story

Allison: Derrek called asking me to come over so we could have a serious conversation. He said this was going to be conversation that he felt needed to be shared now. He shared a lot of difficult parts about his past, and we then drove to Sanctuary Woods Preserve. The very place that Derrek and I were unexpectedly led by the spirit into a DTR, which gave us peace about our concerns and finished with him asking me to be his girlfriend. As we walked the trail on October 9th, 2015, we had a hard conversation and prayed deeply ending in the very same spot that we stood on November 5, 2014. Little did I know that he intentionally took me to the same spot, and asked me to be his wife. Derrek: Getting her ring was more challenging than getting her phone number. And even that took several ’email arranged’ hangouts (outside of 5 months together in class). This ring was her confirmation ring. It symbolized her external declaration of a private relationship and intimate faith with God. Helping to grow her faith, and the way God used her to grow mine was the whole point of our relationship. I wanted us both to have a tangible reminder of what our commitment to each other would be for the rest of our lives. No matter the faith or condition of the other, it is a covenant to grow with Jesus, both independently and in our relationship. So I recruited her sly grandmother (who gave her the ring) to finally help me get it, and I brought it to Jewel-Tec to put a new diamond in it. After a famously quick turn around and grand workmanship, I planted it in the Ring Cam. I had it for less than 24 hours before finding a way to pour out my heart and invite her into this new season of life.
