DISNEY ATTRACTIONS: MAGIC KINGDOMZooming through twists and turns while Aerosmith music blasts in your ears, dropping 13 stories to another dimension, soaring through California orange groves, Splashing into river rapids or singing with Brer Rabbit and friends, and speeding through space. These are just a small taste of the many wonderful Disney attractions. Whether you’re going on your honeymoon, to pop the question, a family vacation, or a get away with friends there are plenty rides and other attractions perfect for you. This blog will be broken up into each park and filled with favorite attractions such as rides or shows. There will even be tips like when to wear a poncho (because you WILL get wet) or which rides need a fast past the most. Over the next four weeks all of the four theme parks will be posted individually so you can see the top attractions for each! Disclaimer- not all rides will be mentioned here. Because there are far to many we have chosen the highlights we think you will enjoy. But always feel free to check out the Walt Disney World website to view more. Magic Kingdom First stop is the Magic Kingdom. It doesn’t matter who you are; the moment you enter this place your face will light up and you’ll turn five years old all over again. The magic of main street, the beauty of the castle, and eight magical lands to explore! Rides: – Top picks: Photo By: Michael Grey 1) Splash Mountain- This is my favorite ride in the magic kingdom. Filled with a fun story line, songs and multiple drops at different levels, this ride is sure to please guests of all ages. It also is one of the longest rides (time wise) at Disney so its more worth your wait. Tips for Splash: depending on the weather you may or may not need a fast pass. On warm days this line can be over an hour while on cool days there’s no wait at all. If you’re worried about how wet you’ll be try to get a back seat. You will get wet on this ride but not soaked but don’t worry about that because it’s totally worth it!. Once you sit down on this roller coaster you are launched into space with pitch-blackness lit up by stars and planets zooming around you. While there are plenty of fast paced turns and drops the best part is that you can’t see the tracks in front of you so there’s no telling where the adventure will take you next! Tips for Space Mountain: This line is generally one of the longest ones at Magic Kingdom so I would suggest getting a fast pass for it. This is the first roller coaster my sister went on and then exclaimed why have I been missing out on roller coasters all this time?!? It’s also one my dad can make it through with out screaming “why did I do this why did I do this?!”. Big thunder is a speedy train that takes you through a gold mine with a few twists and turns. Tips: This line can usually be pretty long; I would recommend a fast pass. Photo By: Christian Lambert Photography 4) Pirates of the Caribbean- This attraction is a boat ride that puts you in world of the Pirates of the Caribbean. Cruise and sing along as you glide through these amazing animatronics some of which look like Captain Jack sparrow in the flesh. The best part about this ride is that it’s something the whole family can enjoy. Tips: This ride could be scary (due to darkness, skeletons, and pirates) for some little ones but while others might find it exciting (use your discretion). Other than that its pretty family friendly my great grandma even used to ride it. As for lines I’ve normally seen this on be relatively shorter (under 30 minutes) however last time I went it was slightly longer. This one isn’t a fast pass must have. Interactive: Photo by: Chris Short Buzz Lightyear Star Command Headquarters- If your looking for something interactive and or Toy Story this ride is perfect for you! When you hop into your seat you enter into Zurg this is a fun ride where you go through and try to shoot a bunch of targets! Tips: This line is fairly moderate but usually more than 30 minutes. If this is your favorite you may want a fast pass but I would recommend using that for the coasters instead or riding toy story at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Photo by: Loren Javier Swiss Family Robinson Tree House- If you have ever dreamed about having a tree house ( or even if you haven’t) this tree house is great to explore! Photo by: Matt Dempsey The laughing floor- this attraction is fun for everyone! Join in with the monsters from Monsters inc. for a show filled with laughs. The cool part is that before the show you can text in your jokes to be read during the show! Shows: Photo by: Jeff Krause Wishes- Grab your dole whip (fresh pineapple and frozen yogurt) and watch in awe and wish upon a star (or fire works). This show is truly magical and is one of the best! This show is every night at 10PM. Celebrate the Magic– Before and after wishes there is a light like you’ve never seen that takes over the castle. Decorations of colors and characters take over and show spectacular beauty. This truly is a unique experience. It is shown 9:45 and 10:35 every night Thinking about proposing soon? Check us out!
